New Honda Civic lanched

Japan - Honda announced their return to the event FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) champion this year with the Civic hatchback (Euro model). Arrival of the Civic will challenge WTCC champion last year, the Chevrolet Cruze.


"We have made the decision to enter the WTCC with the European version of the Civic. We will develop a machine that is completely new and we are very pleased with this new challenge," said Honda CEO, Takanobu Ito.

Machines used in the Civic was referring to the FIA Super 2000 regulations. That is the type of gasoline direct-injection turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder.

The project was undertaken jointly by Honda R & D and their official tuner, Mugen. Furthermore, the chassis is done by J.A.S. Motorsportchassis, with a base Honda Civic 5-door 2012 version produced by the Honda factory in Swindon, England.
